"No to AUKUS, war and imperialism", says Britain's YCL

The Central Committee of the Young Communist League of Britain (YCL) has issued the following statement in response to the announcement of the new AUKUS (Australia-UK-US) nuclear aggression pact.

The YCL completely opposes the reckless and aggressive actions of Boris Johnson’s Tory Government, at the command of their US puppet masters in the White House and the Pentagon, to create a new hostile pact aimed at attacking China and exerting imperialist control over South East Asia.

Australia: Greek communist immigrants condemn Senate's despicable anti-communist resolution

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) friends' organizations in Sydney and Melbourne strongly condemn the despicable resolution adopted by the Australian Senate that seeks to equate communism with and monster of fascism.

In the statement published on 902 portal, the ΚΚΕ Friends Organizations denounce the Australian Labour Party (ALP) and the Liberal Party for “cutting and sewing” in order to “turn History upside down and bring it to their anti-communist measures”. Alongside the two major parties were three “independent” senators and the far-right “National” party.

Australian Senate equates communism with fascism!

A despicable motion, which equalizes communism with fascism and right-wing extremism, was adopted by the Australian Senate earlier this month.

Under the responsibility of both the two major political forces, the right-wing “Coalition” (Liberal Party, National Party) and the social democratic Australian Labor Party (ALP), the unhistorical and unscientific theory of the “two extremes” has officially entered Australian politics.

Australia's Communist Party celebrated its 100th anniversary

Source: Communist Party of Australia.
On October 30th, the Communist Party of Australia (CPA) marked its 100th anniversary. On this occasion a number of events have been organized in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth from 29th October to 1st November 2020.

In a press release, the Communist Party points out:

"Only one conclusion can be drawn on surveying 100 years of Communist; that the party has has a colourful and successful past. In the first decade the Party struggled with the boom of the early 20s but as the depression hit the Party gained much notice as the organisers of the unemployed, providing food and pressure on Government to provide resources for the unemployed. They ran eviction struggles and these made headlines in Sydney and in other parts of Australia.

100th anniversary of the Communist Party of Australia

On October 30th, 2020, the Communist Party of Australia (CPA) will mark its 100th anniversary. The Party was founded at a conference on 30th October 1920 at the Sydney Trades Hall as response to two factors – the appalling conditions of the working class and the inspiration of the revolutionary developments in Russia with the 1917 Great October Socialist Revolution. It was the outcome of the experience gleaned in the struggles of the labour movement from 1890 to 1920 and was one of the decisive revolutionary acts of the Australian working class.

Australia: Communist Party's statement on the government’s response to COVID-19 pandemic

Statement by the CC of the Communist Party of Australia (CPA) on the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic:

THE GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED US. THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED US.

Coronavirus was brought into Australia by travellers from other countries, yet for weeks they were simply allowed to get off planes and ships without any government screening, at most being told to self isolate for 14 days. The onus was put on the individual traveller. This did not work. The government’s inaction has led to the virus spreading throughout the country and people dying.

Statements by the WFTU and PAME: Solidarity with the bus drivers' strike in Sydney

The World Federation of Trade Unions, representing 92 million workers in the 5 continents, expresses its solidarity with Sydney bus drivers who are on strike as a response to the government’s announcement for a privatization program of bus services in the city’s south and inner west.
The privatization plan was announced, despite the fact that the government assured the bus drivers in writing that the bus route will not be privatized. According to the strikers, the privatization will cost the job of 1,200 drivers, will reduce the bus routes and stops and will adversely affect the quality of service and the maintenance of the buses.
